| St. Cloud Area Branch support SCRAPS |
|
In keeping with the AAUW Public Policy Principles for Action which states: "AAUW values and is committed to the arts and humanities which develop and enhance our pluralistic cultural heritage"the St. Cloud Area Branch will support SCRAPS (St. Cloud Recycled Art Project Shop.) The St. Cloud Recycled Art Project Shop recycles overstock, leftover and gently used materials as art supplies for educational art activities. These recycled materials are used by St, Cloud area schools, public and private, Boys and Girls Clubs and scout troops for art projects. SCRAPS is housed in the Seeberger park shelter and is staffed by volunteers. It is a program of the St. Cloud Arts Commission and is open twice a month. We will collect materials at our branch meetings to help stock the shelves. Examples of items that we will collect are yarn, buttons, trims, scraps of material and felt, wallpaper and wrapping paper, ribbons, cardboard tubes, needle point scraps, Pringles containers, coffee cans, cylindrical oatmeal boxes and office supplies. Just bring you clean items to the Branch monthly meetings and we will bring them over to the shelter for you. This project will run form now until the May meeting. |
